A Company Secretary as it stated in
the Companies Acts 1965 Section 139A (a) & (b) that the following persons
can be company secretary:
1. Chartered
Accountant (Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) )
2. Chartered
Secretary (Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
(MAICSA).
3. Licensed
Secretary (Company Commission of (SSM))
4. Lawyer
(He/she must be register with Malaysian Bar, or relevant authorities)
If
the person appointed as a company secretary, he/she will become an officer of the
company, sharing legal responsibilities with the directors for certain tasks
required by the Companies Act. It is in everyone’s interest to ensure that you
